South Korean girl group BLACKPINK has a massive fan base across the world and fans love them like crazy.  The band consists of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, and the talented four have garnered a lot of fame due to their music. A few days back, an Indian TV channel aired a special segment talking about some rituals practised in China and Taiwan which claims that strippers perform at funerals. During the segment about ‘Chinese strippers’, the channel aired a video of BLACKPINK. As the segment grabbed a lot of attention online, the now-viral video has upset many BLINKS’. The fans slam the channel for calling the band ‘Chinese strippers’.

On Twitter, an official Indian BLACKPINK fan page tweeted, “This is a shameful act by a popular news channel degrading  idols image and nationally broadcasting it on their segment ROCHAK ROMANCHAK. Also the news that has been displayed contains performance of Lisa and Jennie during their solo performance in 'In Your Area' concert."

The enraged Indian fan base of BLACKPINK expressed their fury over the misrepresentation of the Korean girl group. In the tweet, it was also mentioned that the video that was shared during the segment featured band members Lisa and Jennie performing solo during the In Your Area concert.


One Blink wrote, “This is so Shameful. You all broadcast anything without proper data..You can't defame anyone like this with all faulse & irrelevant statements..You need to Apologize.” Moving on, another fan tweeted, “Indian media was talking something about china .. and then called blackpink Chinese strippers when they aren't even Chinese.” Another wrote, “This is disgusting & disrespectful to BLACKPINK and using Jennie & Lisa is highly disrespectful. Meanwhile, after receiving a lot of backlash on social media, the news channel went on to apologise. The channel tweeted, “We stand by our story, however by mistake or call it a technical error, a wrong video got uploaded, we have withdrawn the said video clip the moment we came to know about it. We have been honest to our stories, what we air, would always stand by it. We regret for this tech error.” They mentioned that they stand by the story, but it was a mistake and called it a technical error.
